After being told by one boffin that the motherboard on my laptop was dead, I asked same chap to recover the data from it - which he did, only guess what? Laptop worked fine for him too. Unfortunately, the mains cable is rather dodgy and needs replacing - but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. So I'm 85 Euros down and not that much better off as yet. I'd be half-annoyed and half-amused, and trying not to give in to the urge. On Wednesday, I gave into the urge and let the Luna-chick sleep with her head on the keyboard of my open laptop. Later that day, a vet gave up part of her lunch and we had Luna, our beautiful white cat, put to sleep. We only had her for about a year and a half, but she clawed her way into our hearts and claimed space in our lives and our home. Miss you, LunaTiCat. Current Mood:

IOW, it's a normal Monday morning for me. There were times last week when I thought 'I should write something about that' but the time passed and I no longer remember what seemed so interesting. We're continuing to work on getting Luna to eat (having completely given up on the kidney diet food after she refused to eat for two days when we tried to feed it to her). Like Ozone before her, she's more than happy to eat strained turkey baby food (but doesn't care for strained chicken). And now I should get up from my desk and get ready for work, completely ignoring my inner 5 year old, who keeps whinging but I don't wanna. Have a great day, ya'll. Current Mood:

iulia_linnea in the fall_fantasia fest on InsaneJournal. Sometimes when I'm assigned a prompt for a fest, I look at the recipient's likes and dislikes and realise that any story and/or pairing they're going to really enjoy is going to be out of my comfort zone. That's definitely the case with this story. Still, that being said, I'm very proud of this story and hope that I did justice to its themes and to those who have gone through and are going through something similar to what I put Harry through. Because, just as there must be queers in the Harry Potter universe, so must there also be transgendered people and those who struggle with gender identity. It is so awesome, in fact, that when she gave me permission to use it I promptly flailed and knocked over my tequila--three times. I'm so happy it's not even funny. It's even better than seeing a house I liked. For serious. That says something about my priorities, but what the hell. It's so pretty it could even go with For a Reasonable Fee or Comes at a Cost.
